If you are not using a double opt in or an incentive email, then yeah, it's really easy for bots to sign up to your list. And what will happen is your complaint rate will usually be a little bit higher because they are signing up and those people are instantly complaining because they didn't sign up to be on your list. List bombing can cause a ton of reputation issues for cinders. So one way that I like to look that kind of works for every sender is just to go through your list of people who have complained about your emails. It's definitely something that is dependent on your audience.
