Eggcorns, the Gift That Keeps on Giving

The most popular category of messages we got this year was egcorns. This is a term coined by some one else for a phrase or a word even that's been slightly mangled, may be misheard and changed a little bit but the changed version still contains a kind of internal logic. Instead of saying ballerina, they say, balance rena. They call a trampeline a jumpeline. That's good for tramps er. And then he says, in brackets, we've been discussing sharks and their sharp toothed bitiness for some years. It does make it does make sense because a pencil sharpener makes a pencil look a bit more like a shark.
