NASA doesn't do a selection every year, so it can be three years, four years, five years between selections. The first time I'd ever been on a NASA center, any NASA center, much less Johnson Space Center at the home of human space flight. And almost a week there, you had a lot of medical exams and a chance to talk to current astronauts.
