How to Be Confident in a New Medium

Most times jumping from one medium to another is like moving to a different language. How long will it take you to be confident in that new medium? You somehow have to figure out how long it's going to take. And if it's a really big leap like I did with podcasts from 800 to 3000 words, well, that took me two years before I could go.
