The Fact or Opinion Approach to CBT

The key here as always is to identify and accept your thoughts you're not going to undergo a personality transplant but to accept that these are just your anxious thoughts and opinions and they're not facts. The next time that you have a very worrying thought simply ask yourself is this a fact or is it an opinion if it's an opinion then you have to look at the facts what do you actually know about the situation  this in turn will have a calming physiological effect on your acutely anxious body so it's not just about changing your thoughts and changing your mind when you work with your thoughts over time to challenge them you will actually calm down your body physiologically it's a biological thing.
