Mother country is told in two different voices. Both of these people's stories interset at the terrific point in which the american woman kidnaps the mortanian woman's child. At the same time, suria, the toddler's mother, who was once a moritanian slave, is desperate and nearly despondent at the disappearance of her daughter. Mother country weaves the stories of these two women together and investigates issue of love, grief, motherhood, loyalty and trama.
