A Brief History of Typography
The first one of note is william austen bert. He was an american engineer, and he was issued a patent for what he called a typographer. To type a single letter, you'd have to rotate this lever,. Then you would press down on it and make that letter press against the ye. It almost looked like the impressions on the page were going willy nilly. But i've seen actual letters that were written using the to typographer - they looked like a fairlyo not th. Not the neatest typed letter you've ever sane, but still phenomenal.
