What Is a Base System?

The ancient babylonians used a base system 60, and much of the world to day we use a base ten or decimal system. Some people suggest whell maybe they countid on their toes as well as their fingers. One of my colleagues told me that where in the world, some tribe use base eight. So you've only got eight to work with. And maybe caleb can shed some light. O youknow about that? Caleb, yes. I certainly find it easier to look at an analogue clock and literally see it vigially cut. When i think about numbers, i find them quite hard to hold in my head. But let's just stop for a moment on base systems
