USB-C for the iPhones?

I hate Lightning. It is slow, but also it's really frustrating that it's the one different cable that you have to use to charge everything in our house,. Plus, we found that the cables are very unreliable and they, for some reason, the third pin or the fourth pin seems to just burn out. I've been wanting to see an end to Lightning for a long time. We would have ended up with USB-C just because of emerging between USB and Thunderbolt onto a common connector. Would we have got USB-C if it hadn't have been for lightning? And of course, it's a... The whativism is always very popular.
