Why PRTI Mines Bitcoin and Ethereum?
Product Recovery Technology International PRTI is processing discarded tires on a site at Franklin to north of Raleigh. The energy could be used for other purposes and the company is planning to roll it out in other sites, including Europe. This stranded energy that PRTI creates from recycling tires that would otherwise be burned or buried is not diverting energy from other uses. Instead, PRTI merely keeps the relatively small amount of energy that they create, which would otherwise be wasted or sent noneconomically into the grid and mines Bitcoin and ether. It helps keep their business profitable so that they can continue to do the good work of recycling tires and cutting down on that massive global source of pollutants and litter.
