How to Show Respect - Humour Based Humour

Brits don't like the honest approach towards each other regarding our flaws. We do it through humour, otherwise it feels a bit uncomfortable. And think of it, when I am tutoring Asian students, they are often comfortable talking about my appearance in a serious way,. Like saying, oh, you look ill or you look tired. Did you not sleep well?
