As a non physicist, i find myself enamored with the concept of eternal inflation multiversal cosmologies. Intuitively in an infinitely expanding series of bubble universes, feels like as good a cosmology as any to get behind. I realize feeling like its a beautiful cosmology is not a sound basis upon which to base a scientific theory, however. And i'd like to know if you could expound on what testable hypotheses are being explored in this area, or have been proposed.
Welcome to the April 2022 Ask Me Anything episode of Mindscape! These monthly excursions are funded by Patreon supporters (who are also the ones asking the questions). I take the large number of questions asked by Patreons, whittle them down to a more manageable size — based primarily on whether I have anything interesting to say about them, not whether the questions themselves are good — and sometimes group them together if they are about a similar topic. Enjoy!
