The Importance of Medical Experiments

Bear was a subsidiary of IG Farben, the company that made gasoline and rubber. Bear employees carried out experiments on concentration camp victims to come up with new products they could later make a lot of money off of. A senior bear official oversaw the chemical factory in Auschwitz III, also called Monowitz. He was convicted by an American military tribunal at the Mount Hausen trial in 1947 and executed for war crimes in 1949. In one study of anesthetic, the company paid for use of 150 female inmates of Auschwitz.
