Is There a Mental Illness?
Some mental illnesses can resemble a takeover, where the individual who was normally well is now inaccessible. So we rule out mental illness as a matter of course. And only if mental illness or any other kind of medical illness cannot account for the phenomena do we then start looking into the supernatural realm. In the Catholic Church, we have a manual called the Prino Tanda that lists the three phenomenal that indicate the presence of the devil.
