Cognitobias is a term used to describe people who are biased against their own self-interest. It can have practical applications, such as helping us process the news more clearly and making inroads on climate change. Wright says there's an audience for this kind of technical terminology that lends real authority. But he thinks it may be too jargony or overused at times.
