Dopamine Agonists and Other Drugs for PD

The disease progression is causing the need for a higher dose and more frequent dosing. 40% of people taking dopamine agonists have impulse control or compulsive symptoms like gambling, impulsive sexual eating behaviors. The other thing that dopamine agonists as well as anti-cold, neurogic medications like a Manti-D and Trihexi-Fennidil can do is cause psychosis. So if somebody with Parkinson's comes to me with those symptoms, I say, what medicines are you on? Can we take you off of some of the heavy hitters that are going to be causing more of those symptoms?"
