How Do You Know if Someone Is Trustworthy?

We have a lot of misperceptions about trust, and the mistakes we make when we infer how trustworthy people are. If you ask people directly, their expect ations about the trustworthiness of other people aren't all that accurate. The next time you're interacting with another person, do you have adequate expectations about how they are going to be trustworthy? We don't perceive what we're doing as trust but in reality it is actually committing acts of trust.
