The Special Department in the Soviet Union
In the 1990s, Ukrainian students were invited for a chat at what they used to call the Special Department. The room was made of steel and you could tell where it was by its reinforced door. A man told them he had some friends working for the Americans have launched a Student Exchange program with the Parisia. He wanted me to tell him what those people were up to. And then he said, well, look, you have a choice. You know, 1990s, a difficult time.
