The Deep Sea Octopus
The first essay of the book was about a deep sea octopus called Granoletany Boryopecifica. She sat on her eggs for four and a half years without eating, which is "stupefied by that" It reminds me of my own relationship with my mother and my own relationships with disordered eating," she says.
