The Speed of Trains Caused Insanity

There was widespread belief that the speed and constant rattling noise of passenger trains caused people to go insane. The Victorian era we think of as being really chaste and prude, but elites were watch any period piece. People were afraid of the speed of trains. Even at first they thought it would be physically dangerous. Like you're Oregon to be crushed up against your spine because 28 miles an hour was like just crazy fast and human body couldn't take it. They had a cause of insanity, which is silly in retrospect thinking back on this.
