Xenophon tells us at this point, after this battle with these locals that they ran in with, they've got 8,600 men now. So their numbers have dwindled. They decide to sell their prisoners in the basically in the slave market of trapezius. And here, Xenophon goes on a digression that's really important for understanding Xenophon and also how this whole Greek world works. The money received from the sale of the captives and the tithe, which they set apart for Apollo and Artemis of the Ephesians was distributed among the generals. so they've taken all the money and a tenth of it.
