When you run into this puritanical mentality, it's not just a matter of dismissing these people as being cretins and quacks. I mean, they may be, but there's a long historical tradition behind the idea of puritanism. And I think it behooves us as libertarians in battling for individual liberty that we understand something of the philosophical premises our opponents are using.
