Introduction
Liberians Scott and Monzer Dalet are investigating how credit scores affect access to fair housing loans. In the 20th century, redlining went all the way back to the New Deal as African Americans were purposely left out of suburban housing offered to whites. The Federal Housing Administration believed that the property value of homes would go down if any African Americans moved into the neighborhood. And what's interesting is that their racism led to making less money because the home values actually went up when an African-American moved into a neighborhood.
