Einstein's Theory of the Universe
I think in a certain sense Einstein's theory was greater than he was. He produced this theory on tremendous insights, there's no question about it. But then he guessed about what the universe was like in one way or another,. His guess is about the universe as a whole, and turned out to be wrong usually. So we must take the equation seriously. The equation say, okay, there could be a cosmological constant. It's the only thing which could be there without destroying the equations. And observationally, we find it is there.
