The Biden Administration's Plan to End Title 42

Gustavo: The Biden administration had planned to end Title 42 in late 2022, right after the midterms. A coalition of Republican led states managed to get a federal judge in Louisiana to prevent officials from ending it. After their request was denied by lower courts, the states asked the Supreme Court to intervene. On December 27, the Supreme Court said it would suspend the lower court order that found Title 42 to be illegal until it decided whether the Republican led states should be allowed to intervene in the case. Eventually, with the end of the federal emergency over COVID-19, Title 42 just kind of went away.
