The National Wildlife Refuge System

The National Wildlife Refuge System is a system of protected areas of the United States managed by the US Fish and Wildlife. The blue goose has been used on refuge signs and exhibits since 1936. Pulitzer Prize winning cartoonist Ding Darling designed the symbol.
