Introduction
Paul Kingsnorth is a novelist, essayist, environmental campaigner and recent convert to Orthodox Christianity. He lives in the west of Ireland for his wife and children. One of the things that I imagine must have been most difficult to give up and become a Christian was what was really kind of pronounced in your writing around 2017 or so were this real sense of despair. How are you doing with that? And how does your Christianity interact with your previous way of thinking about thinking and hoping about humans and the world?
