Voltaire wrote Condid in the 1750s, but he's still quarrelling a lot all that time. He likes invented names and has lots of them on the way through it. And I think it's the 1760s when he starts picking up campaigns and he campaigns to get the name of Calas cleared. If there were a Christ, then Voltaire would certainly be going to heaven says Deidre.
