Introduction

Daniel Smith's new book is about the fallen rise of the English of a class, houses, kinship and capital since 1945. He wanted to look at why are so many posh people in positions of power talking about all the opportunities that Brexit will offer. And offering instead a group of people who are seen to be custodians or invested with bringing the English back to where they always were. So there's this is sort of much more anthropological definition of class rather than the sociological one.
