i think that's one of the troubling part of an authoritarian style teaching method. It doesn't invite you as the person who is, you know, becoming the teacher. And it took me a lot longer to find that and maybe, arguably, even become a better teacher because i felt like i had to do things exactly the way that i learned them. I'm into the experience of finding your identity within that. We're not actually gifted the tools to critically value information is as part of teaching," she says.
