Continuous Therapy or Continuous Hemodialysis?

Dr. Toph: Not every patient needs continuous therapies and that oftentimes patients will be hemodynamically stable enough for intermittent hemo. If the patient has acute hyperkial you'll be able to lower that potassium much faster with intermittent hemodialysis. And so the same thing with a toxicity anytime you have an intoxication, intermittent hemo is much better than these continuous therapies at fixing that problem.
