Lawrence Lessig: Technology in all spheres is advancing very quickly. He says it's likely that we will see an artificial womb as a form of life support for preterm babies introduced within our lifetime. These technologies are likely to move to preclinical or clinical trials with human infants probably within the next 10 years, he says.

But with these advancements come myriad ethical, legal, and social questions that challenge our understanding of parenthood, abortion rights, and even personhood.
