The Risk of Russian Use of Nuclear Weapons in Ukraine

The risk that russia might use nuclear weapons against ukrane has been present from the moment they chose to fight a nuclear power. I don't think this is particularly imminent right now, but it's always a risk, and it does increase as the ukranians succeed. The odds that putin would get into a nuclear war with the west are vanishingly small. But the odds that he might use attactigte nuclear weapons in ukraine are higher even so i think it's important neither to overstate nor to understate that risk.
