Eustice's kids are buried in the Blackberries, which is very... Not blueberries. They didn't take any very distinct color that you picked. And of course on the red widow side, she has red hair. There's things about that that speak to other things, but her family was for the red dragon as well. As usual, George does multiple layers here to maybe distract from some of the subtle points that are being made and it's also morbid foreshadowing. He really idolizes Damon is the lead in this story.
