The all renewables world imagines a quite big shift to decentralized electricity generation that we don't have now. The transmission cost of all renewables is hard if you put all the renewables at big centralized facilities like wind turbines offshore or wind turbines and mountains and solar out in the desert. Certainly the cheapest renewables is going to be the renewables that's very close to you, community renewables. But it still means that the grid needs to grow, or the total amount of liquid electricity needs to grow three or four X. It's got to be both the cost advantage goes to the distributed where you get rid of the transmission costs but that's simply not going to be enough.
