The Power of a Fairy Tale Ending
The Lord of the Rings does not end with a happily ever after ends with, I mean, there's a sorrow of the elves leaving Middle Earth. The euchatastrophe is the joy that follows sorrow. Tolkien did try writing the sequel, the sort of return of the shadow or something like that, and it was just too dark,. But as long as we're living in time, it's, you know, we don't have the final victory, as it were.
