The History of Dogs in Nigeria

The history of dogs can provide a clear window to viewing numerous aspects of human and our relations in significant ways. The whole idea of dividing dogs or classifying dogs as pets or as utility or as taxable dog was informed by the nature of relationship that different kinds of dogs had with their owners. That was the factors that shaped this very problematic classification of dogs into either pet dogs or utility dog. In the 1950s, Ulibaya, one of the most important cultural figures in the general post-colonial and of course, colonial history is set to the no-show booth for a long time before involving in the Swaggle African movement.
