David is originally from Taiwan and grew up in Rockville, Maryland. He went straight into medical school right out of high school. David did genetics research at NIH during which time he found about 40% of all genes known for bipolar disorder. His decision to become an adult and a child psychiatrist was his understanding that having more impact on kids and young people.
