The Death Drive Is Not Jouisance
The key to understanding of human subjectivity is that we are tea kettles. Fill us with water, turn on the heat and we start looking for a way to let that steam out. The pleasure that comes from coming home and putting on your pajama pants after you've been wearing tight ass clothes all day isn't enjoyment but comfort. Society says you can pursue as much pleasure as you want; it's really as much as you can afford. Enjoy as little as possible. Lacan would have you remember that there is a specific type of human experience that is barred by society.
