Are You Getting Rich Off of the Stock Market?
If your stock portfolio goes way down and you're less wealthy, people reduce their spending because they don't feel as rich. But the other factor that nobody is talking about is employment. And so a lot of people are losing their jobs as the stock market goes down. So people are spending less because they have less wealth. They're deftly spending less because now they don't have any pay checks. We're going into recession, but inflation is still a problem.
