The First Draft

It was over 10 years, it's like 12 years before Edward and Netflix came on board. So that whole time, right from when we first had it, went to London, that up was about a dozen meetings. We didn't even have the script at that point but then it was just relentless. And of course, 16 years ago, the landscape was very, very different. Getting a German speaking language film off the ground for that kind of budget would have been impossible to raise the finance for that.
