God Disciplines His Son

Deuteronomy eight says man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of the lord. The rabbinic idea here is is god wants to teach his people that he will give them what they need when he knows they need it and sometimes not a moment before. They're supposed to learn about why obedience and how obedience impacts community.
