The civil rights act passed in 1964 and prior to that it was not unlawful To overtly discriminate um in a variety of ways and very explicitly and overtly. People were much more comfortable sort of saying what is now the quiet part out loud back then so We saw this ideaUm and and we saw there were shifts over time in history also that Um, when the men went to war the women stepped in When the men came back from where the women were expected to get back You know see the movie a league of their own, you know, you can kind of see that.
