How Does Zoning Really Work?
The history of zoning, i thought was actually covered in a lot more depth here than i've read before. City planning is meant to be a big picture plan for how the city is going to change over time. Sommy: I found that people often kind of only had a very vague sense of what zoning was. And so i just wanted to spend a chapter in the book in explaining what zoning is and then i include an appendix which explains where zoning fits within this broader ecosystem of of planning.
