The Rise of Senior Women for Climate Protection

Nearly 200 governments promised in the Paris Agreement, eight years ago, that they would try to hold temperature rises to 1.5 degrees above pre-industrial levels. The last time we devoted an edition of law in action to climate change, just over two years ago, I reported on a group of Swiss campaigners called the Clemus Senorinan. After losing their claim in Switzerland, the climate seniors took their case to the European Court of Human Rights. A third case has been brought by a group of young Portuguese citizens against 33 Council of Europe member states, including the United Kingdom.
