The Ten Virgins of Solomon's Temple
Matthew chapter 25 contains three great judgment scenes. The first one is the parable of the 10 virgins. Why virgins? Well maybe because this is a marital event. And here I think they symbolise those associated with the bride of Jerusalem. It underlines the binary division that Matthew often draws our attention to.
