The US War on Al-Shabaab in Somalia

The 2001 AUMF, which was passed in the wake of the September 11th attacks for the invasion of Afghanistan is used today to justify the US war against Al-Shabaab. The last airstrike in Somalia that Afrikaam reported took place on February 21st. President Biden ordered the deployment of up to 500 troops of the country in May 2022. And one thing that's struck me about the 2022 national defense strategy that the Pentagon put out, it outlines the biggest threats facing the US and it didn't even mention Al- Shabaab.
