The Manor Is the Most Important Thing
We've got better at seeing that there is a kind of, not exactly rebellion, but resistance to that top down yethings. There's this concept in english histories and there of open and unclosed parishes. People don't migrate to the manor of their lord, somewhere else. They go where there's a job. Ironically, the king's a very weak lord locally, cause he's got other stuff to do. Y and lots of the manners, like benson and so on, there, there, they're royal, so people do their own thing.
