The Importance of Mode Sharing in New York City
Only a third of trips are made by car in the five boroughs if I recall. Over 70% of households in Manhattan do not have a car. You can actually have a single family place in Queens or outer Brooklyn and that sort of thing and lead a semi suburban life.
