The Role of Others in Camping
I wanted to ask you about recreational camping, especially leading up to the sixties. The idea of camping as being tied in some way to a critique of american society, to the counterculture. I'm sure there were folks that weren't just sort of young people im doing this but they began to appreciate what that might do. And so they could literally walk away from that crowded loop camp ground and find aa sense of solitude and authenticity out in more remote parts of the back country.
